This event will identify key factors that contribute to health disparities and its relationship to problem gambling, explore connections between gambling and substance use disorders to increase awareness of dual diagnosis to advocate for theneed to include gambling-informed care about Medical Assisted Treatment (MAT) professionals and populations, discuss educational prevention programs addressing gambling awareness, potential risks and making informed decisions aboutgambling, learn strategies and tools to help family members understand, process, and navigate Gambling Disorder, learn about a newly completed clinical trial that compares two evidence-based gambling disorder treatments, including one thataddresses gambling alone, and another that addresses co-occurring gambling and trauma, recognize: ‘addictive by design’ technology that exploits cognitive biases, gambling mechanics in gaming, and harms of gaming, and discuss the growing impact of sports betting and the most effective approach to treatment.
