Take Down Tobacco Day on March 31, 2023, is a national day of action for youth to come together to expose the tobacco industry’s deadly tactics. Youth have a powerful voice in addressing the harms of commercial tobacco. Here are a few of our favorite resources for supporting youth with taking action:
- Take Down Tobacco Day of Action – Learn how you and youth in your community can get involved on March 31st on the Campaign for Tobacco-Free Kids (CTFK) resource page.
- Take Down Tobacco Training Program – This comprehensive youth advocacy training program is good preparation for Take Down Tobacco Day and equips youth with the skills to create change in their communities.
- Tobacco Policy Workshop Toolkits – The MDHHS Tobacco Section has developed toolkits to help organizations to train youth about educating decision makers on effective tobacco prevention and cessation policies.
- A Student’s Guide to the Legislative Process in Michigan – This booklet designed by the Michigan Legislature is primarily for high school students who are interested in learning more about the Legislative Process in Michigan.
