Jamie Daniels Foundation grants funds to support community partners that provide programs, resources, and solutions that address the ongoing drug epidemic in our country. The foundation also advocates for legislative change as it relates to drug use and prescribing. This Michigan Child Protection Registry is a do-not-contact service that families can easily and quickly sign up for at www.ProtectMIChild.com in order to keep their children safe while on their devices at school and at home. This Registry, which is administered through Michigan’s Secretary of State office, is a free program to stop adult advertisements from reaching our kids through e-mail, text, Snapchat, Twitter and Instagram. This Registry is an excellent resource for making sure our kids aren’t being served ads for alcohol, tobacco/vaping, online gambling, pornography or marijuana.

Prevention Network is a statewide not-for-profit that aims to cultivate healthy communities across Michigan through prevention resources, technical assistance, and support. Prevention Network has provided support to individuals, grassroots groups, coalitions, and larger agencies across all 83 Michigan counties on substance misuse prevention since 1984. We strive to bridge the gap between research and practice for enhanced effectiveness of local prevention efforts.
The work of the MDHHS Tobacco Section is guided by the five goals of the Tobacco Section Strategic Plan: identify and eliminate tobacco-related health disparities; eliminate exposure to secondhand smoke; promote tobacco treatment (cessation) among adults and youth; prevent initiation among youth and young adults; and expand and stabilize tobacco control infrastructure and funding.
