The Director of Research, Evaluation, and Leadership Development for The Institute for Leadership and Service at the University of Detroit Mercy provides community engaged research, evaluation, and technical assistance. Dr. Zimmerman-Oster specializes in “Leadership Development Across the Lifespan” and assessment and evaluation of community coalitions and prevention and early intervention programs.
Drug Free Muskegon County works to reduce substance abuse by acting as an organizing body for over 50 community organizations such as schools, health care providers, law enforcement, government organizations, and civic leaders, as well as business and youth. Our dynamic data-driven approach to identifying issues and developing initiatives to prevent drug abuse in Muskegon County is nationally recognized.
The SUDDs Coalition offers prevention and outreach services to 13 Downriver cities. These areas include North Allen Park, Southgate, Melvindale, Wyandotte, Rockwood, Riverview, River Rouge, Grosse Isle, Gibraltar, Woodhaven, Brownstown Township, Flat Rock, and Trenton. The SUDDs Coalition consists of community members from local schools, law enforcement, city government, faith-based groups, businesses, hospitals, and many other organizations. The SUDDs Coalition is supported by The Guidance Center and funded through the Drug Free Communities Support Program.
SW MI Behavioral Health (SWMBH) is the Prepaid Inpatient Health Plan (PIHP) for eight Michigan counties. SWMBH, in partnership with local agencies and programs, privides SUD Prevention Services, Harm Reduction services and various modalities of Treatment services for persons with Substance User Disorders.
Prevention Network is a statewide not-for-profit that aims to cultivate healthy communities across Michigan through prevention resources, technical assistance, and support. Prevention Network has provided support to individuals, grassroots groups, coalitions, and larger agencies across all 83 Michigan counties on substance misuse prevention since 1984. We strive to bridge the gap between research and practice for enhanced effectiveness of local prevention efforts.
