Karen Bergbower & Associates, PC (KBA) is a prevention, assessment, counseling, and consulting group based in Brighton, Michigan. KBA provides counseling for mental health, substance use, and other life issues, including trauma. In addition to providing services at our office in Brighton, KBA provides prevention services in Lenawee, Livingston, Monroe, and Washtenaw counties. KBA strives to implement the most effective and researched model programs available to decrease youth substance use and related consequences.

Our dynamic data-driven approach to identifying issues and developing initiatives to prevent drug abuse in Muskegon County is nationally recognized.

Jamie Daniels Foundation grants funds to support community partners that provide programs, resources, and solutions that address the ongoing drug epidemic in our country. The foundation also advocates for legislative change as it relates to drug use and prescribing. Our primary focus is on children, young adults (up to age 24), and their families who are battling Substance Use Disorder through three key initiatives: Prevention, Recovery, and Stigma Reduction.

Joel Hoepfner has worked in the behavioral health field for over 18 years & beyond his supervisory role at CMHA-CEI as Prevention & Outreach Coordinator, he is a contracted training consultant for MDHHS & Prevention Network providing a variety of annual trainings to the behavioral health workforce. Joel has a long history of providing leadership, direction, & individualized technical assistance along with state, community & agency wide trainings, workshops, & webinars on a multitude of topics for diverse audiences.

Housed in the Health Promotion Department, Michigan State University’s Collegiate Recovery Community (CRC) serves students in or seeking recovery from alcohol and other drug addiction. Our mission is to provide a safe and supportive campus community in which students in recovery from addiction can achieve their academic, personal and professional goals.
