Designed for community leaders and prevention professionals, this training provides a step-by-step overview of conducting a Community Needs Assessment. Participants will learn how to gather and analyze data, engage community partners, and identify strengths, gaps, and priorities to inform effective strategies that address local challenges.

Objectives:

  1. Describe the step-by-step process of conducting a Community Needs Assessment, including methods for collecting and analyzing both quantitative and qualitative data.
  2. Apply strategies for engaging community partners and stakeholders throughout the needs assessment process to build collaborative buy-in and gather diverse perspectives.
  3. Analyze assessment findings to identify community strengths, gaps, and priorities, and use these results to inform the development of effective, locally tailored prevention strategies.
