This presentation is intended to provide a multidisciplinary audience with information about national and statewide trends in poison-related exposures specific to medication and known substances of abuse. Information about the toxicity in unintended exposure to medication and substances of abuse in specified populations will be highlighted. Poison prevention strategies, including safe storage, will be presented, as well as the role of Michigan Poison & Drug Information Center’s role in case management of poison-related exposures.
